Bento for Thursday; Somen bird's nests with tofu, edamame and onions. There's some kimchi buried underneath as well. Banana, a golden kiwi, mandarin and cranberries. Finally some goat's cheese smooshed between half a piece of roggebrood.

This is my last bento till Monday as I'll be here. :)

5 wild tomatoes, 3 pickles, 2 pieces of cheese, some olives, 5 homemade loempias and 5 chicken nuggets. Yum... a warm lunch for once.
Tonkatsu! Complete with Bulldog Tonkatsu sauce (The best sauce Evah!) Hummus+roggebrood and some raspberry kwark with cruesli.

Yesterday I survived a grueling 250 situps... I'll try to repeat that today, the extra 50 was tough but the first 200 not so terrible anymore. Go figure. One day, I'll be fit... one day.

I've been so busy this weekend, that I just ran out of time and forgot to make my bento this weekend. But its time to get back to it again, and here is today's bento.

Salad with walnuts, cherry tomatoes, goats cheese and homemade honey mustard yoghurt dressing, and 3 soft taco shells with left over chicken bits, mayo and spinach inside and one pickle.

Some days I really really do not like being a girl... URGH!
WIENER FISH! *dramatic music*

... on rice with chinakool, edamame and mini shrimp. Cornbread and cruesli with a little strawberry kwark to go with the cruesli.

No bento pic for me today, its Kristel's birthday so we had a birthday lunch of her choice.
2 bapau and 1 ham cheese croissant.

Dinner is gonna be easy chicken wings, salad and fries with applesauce.

Congrats on the weight loss! Whee! Keep going!
I forgot to get on the scale this morning with singing for Kristel.

Myam! Pumpkin soup and cornbread! With a star shaped egg, some cheese and salami and misc veggie bits. I really really love this wanwan bento. It's so fun to eat from.

But on to the best news... weigh in! 60.0kg! YAY! Scale moved! Damn skippy it did after all the exercise and biking I did last week, but WOOT! Period's coming soon, so the bloat will be on next week, but I'm still gonna try to go farther with working out. 200 situps a day is murder still, but hah... one day 300!? Maybe :P

Biked 52km today... all the way to the top of the Rotte river and back. The wind was _insane_ so I was lucky to have survived that far after the long ride yesterday. Not to mention the fact that my butt hurt the moment I sat on the bike this morning! Only ate like 70% of my bento seen below, and Mark scarfed all of his down.

The bento above is for Sunday. Hummus, chickpeas and roggebrood (Apparently the germans call this "black bread" and thats getting me a step closer to a good English name for it.) Pasta with spinich, edamame and red pesto with a lil cheese and three pieces of beef-sausage on top. Mjam...

Another bikeday bento. Roti chicken with an egg and the little roti wrap skewer-swirled with sambal. Onigiri and gyoza and a small square of rum cake.

Yesterday we managed to bike 79km in one day, shattering the old record of 72 for me. Biking today will be less because I just woke up and I already feel exhausted still. One day I wanna be able to bike 100km in a day.

Today's lunch consists of buckwheat soba noodles, edamame, and tofu with sesame seeds on top, grapes and a boiled egg.

Thursday, May 22, 2008

Japanese dry curry with a lot of other bits, including brown rice, hummus, tuna-tofu, spinich and a shaped egg. I love Just Bento's recipes! This should be temptation enough to get Mark to bike with me, maybe to the beach or farther. I wanna break my 72km in one day record!

And my new large sized furoshiki with blue dragonflies to match my old bento, and bunnies to match the new bentos!

Dragon bento consists of 3 pumpkin seed wasa crackers, cheddar cheese, grapes, 3 little cubes of cheese, one wedge of cheese, 1/2 a carrot, 1/5 of a cucumber, 5 slices red pepper, 5 cherry tomatoes.

Hubby's bento consists of mushrooms, carrot, cucumber, red pepper, gloucester cheese, ham, chorizo, grapes and walnuts and 4 sunflower seed crackers.

Two satsumas, a banana and a salad consisting of raw spinich and chickpeas with a few speared pickles on the side. Blue-cheese dressing in the lil HK cup. Been feelin bloaty, this is anti stuff. Used one layer of the picnic jubako bento :)

My wonderful garden!

And some of the plants that are there!
My absolutely favourite yellow rose bush, which I want to eventually put to its purpose of climbing up over a pergola over the path.

These are just plants i bought for my flower bed. They were pretty and colourful!

Wan Wan! I need to buy some eggs because I wanna squash them into little heart and star shapes :X

Today's bento for hubby is rice with umeboshi, sesame seeds and soy sauce, chorizo and ham rolls, gloucester cheddar cheese, and salad with walnuts and goats cheese.

Mine is the same minus the chorizo and i have cheddar cheese.

I ate more than my box today. Something in me screamed HUNGRY so I had extra roggebrood and some oatmeal... lots extra, comparativly. I've been workin in the garden all day, so that must have something to do with it... craved carbs -> energy.

On another note, Bento bits came in the mail today tho. Woot! That was fast. I'll pack my lunch for tomorrow in the wanwan box :)
Weigh in was 60.5, so woot! Happy :)

Leftovers again in the top bento and simple bits in the bottom. Yay...

And a slightly better costume pic, this time with the proper pants and white shirt underneath. Arr Matey... I looked at beads for the wig in town and found a big set for 5e which I'll prolly go back and pick up later this week.

Monday, May 19, 2008

Homemade veggie soup and cornbread. Dried sweet potatos, raisins, walnuts and hot peas. And to top it all off, some bayberries (often mistranslated as arbutus in the toko). Damn tasty little cherry-like balls of happiness. More info here.

One word, Mjam...

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

For Thursday, veggies and tuna-tofu on rice along with some furikake in the little pink box, a banana and a tomato.

Toko find... amazingly tasty dried sweet potato. What's scary is the calorie count on the back of this pack is 55. For the entire pack. The ingreedients list only sweet potato and sugar... but it must not be much sugar at all for only 55 calories. Fear it.

My bento consists of 2 pumpkin seed and oats wasa crackers, and 2 sunflower seed and oats wasa crackers, hummus with a slice of sweet red pepper, cheese, grapes, salad with goats cheese, tomatoes, walnuts and honey mustard yoghurt dressing.

Hubby's bento consists of salad with tomatoes, walnuts, goats cheese and honey mustard yoghurt dressing, 4 wasa crackers, grapes, cheese, hummus, sweet red pepper slices, and salami.
Finally the last of the #@^%@# potato salad which was left from the bbq. Miso soup, and cocosbrood+roggebrood+jam. I have a sweet tooth today.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Today's bento consists of 3 Ryvita Pumpkin seed and oats wasa type crackers, three little cubes of cheese and one wedge of cheese, hummus and salad with tomatoes, goats cheese and homemade honey mustard yoghurt dressing.

Potato salad on lettuce with daikon, star fruit, a tuna-miso burger and miso soup. The radish is the first to be pulled from the garden this year. The little crackers are a tasty scallion flavoured toko find.

The trip to Kinderdijk was 70.7km total, and gorgeous. The bentos were devoured with our feet hanging off one of the little docks along the dike, and the tourists on the sightseeing boat waving at us :D

Official weigh in this morning was 5.1 kilos off in total.
I go thursday to the nutritionist and will show her my log and give her the address to this site.

I'm happy.
Been busy all weekend.
Just a quick check in for Monday's weigh date. Scale yet again said 61. I'm going to have to start really pushing myself if I want it to budge, but eventually it will again. They say slow weight loss is better, as you're more likely to keep it off... yea.. here's hoping :P

I also read that apparently if you're someone who's lose a good percentage of weight previously, your body gets a bit weirded out forever... to the point that your body uses up to 20% less calories a day than a person who's never lost, just to maintain your weight. This would explain a little of why I eat an incredible amount less than Mark, just to hold my weight. His biking, and being a man making up the rest of that deficit. Go figure. Ickle report, tho.

Simple salad bentos for Mark and I. We worked in the garden today... cutting the hedge is hard work :-x

A trio of bentos, for Mark Carl and me... as we're gonna bike (hopefully) to Kinderdijk tomorrow :) Lots of things in it... including tamagoyaki, onigiri with tofu pockets on them and tuna-miso burgers.

They consist of noodle nests, cucumber sushi, tamagoyaki,, onigiri, edamame, radish roses, tuna tofu mini burgers, teriyaki broccoli, lamb, kastanjes and chinese cabbage, wasabi and soy sauce.

Tomorrow i'll be making another two for dinner as well to take to Roger Waters.
