Due to work eating schedule went to bollocks again. Got up at 4am to have breakfast. Ate a little snack at noon and now at eight pm im about to have dinner!
But in other news: I also did some exercises today. Based on the conversation about the length of breaks between the series with Sarah, _I_ changed my gym program, and cut the length of breaks by 45s. Damn that the program got demanding :P

Breakfast: Cornflakes and coffee
Lunch & afternoon Snack: One whole sandwich with cheese and another with Turkey and lettuce. Two bananas, some tomatos, sultanas and juice.
Biked 54km... hence all the eating. Saw lotsa nature too! Four storks (the baby toting sort), lots of swans, a male and female phesant, lots of bunnies and herons, and even a partidge!
I'm pooped now.
Dinner will be a thin crust oven pizza.

When doing my weights
I do one reps of 15 of whatever, then rest for 1 min, then do my next 15, rest 1 min, then next 15.
When doing the other things, elliptical, rowing, biking, walking...
I go from one to the next, to keep my heartrate up. I'm supposed to have it at 144 minumum, 175 max. I haven't hit the 175 yet and hope I don't ever hit that again. Sometimes its REALLY hard for me to get my heartrate up to 144 and keep it there throughout the hour plus exercising.

Nice to hear that the week went well Sarah. I was interested of your workout. What kind of pauses do you have between the series/repeats? I actually take time. 1min 45s sharp always, and then a new set. I do this to build up aerobic condition and as I keep it fast paced the visits feel more efficient. Perhaps you could ask from your instructor if it would be fitting to adjust the length of breaks, that is if you want to adjust the program at some point.
Went to see my mother in the afternoon 'cause I felt I needed company, and her words were something along the lines "havent you been eating, there are dents in your cheeks" - The first comments I've heard about this diet in rl. Felt good to hear feedback. In other news learned about bmi from Heather today. I swear I haven't used it as a measurement stick at all. Just calculated the ideal weight with the help of calculators and started to go towards that kg reading. She found it very odd, and compared it to not knowing about existence of Africa, which I for my behalf found very amusing :)

Juha - congrats on the 1.5 kilos loss. 1.5 kilos isn't a fluke just cause you didn't eat good one day. its the combination of your gym time, soccer games and eating healthier.
I was pleasantly surprised when the scale read 129.9 it may only be 100 grams under that 130 mark, but heck its still 129.9 and its 200 grams off from last week's kilo gain. Even with eating pizza last night. ;)
my munchies craving has subsided some, and today after the gym I felt really good. That sauna was awesome today... have to say I kinda prefer it when there isn't anyone else in it... I like to lay day and feel the heat slowly seep into my muscles.

If I had known what kind of day was ahead of me when I woke up this morning
I would have stayed in bed. The day was a rollercoaster of emotions and thoughts during which i did some embarrassingly stupid things, which I now regret. Didn't even eat right. I just wasn't hungry enough. Had breakfast and dinner, and that was it. I drank just water after that.
Lousy day, but perhaps I still learned something out of this tho I am grateful that there's only 30mins left of this.

Snack: Oatmeal and some bread
Dinner: A mixmosh dinner of everything in the house that needed cooking. Bits of spek, some hamburger meat, mushrooms, spinish and noodles with yoghurt. Coffee + choco after.
Breakfast: Will be some oatmeal and rasins with coffee when I'm hungry enough after my shower. Zzz...
PS: Don't toss old feet into the microwave, oki?

Sorry guys for being MIA.. Hubby didn't make it to China. Long story... mixup with his tickets. Anyway we have been in the process of getting ready to move. Well this week we are boxing like crazy as the decision will be made this week as to which house we will rent. Plus since he is off and he can help me box it's as good a time as any.
Haven't been on the computer at all. Will be back when things die down a little.

I suppose im a liar. Said yesterday that I couldn't possible eat more macaroni casserole after 3 days. Today was the 4th day. Came home as tired from gym and surfing around in city and didn't have the strength to cook anything. Tossing the leftovers in the microwave was the easiest option.
Also bought 75% chocolate from shop today since someone keeps talking about it so much so I got curious. Little bock of it with coffee tasted nice. Seems to me that I have dessert ready for some weeks now, that is if I eat it block/day pace.
Was a busy day, gym and cycling like a maniac, looking for cable for my phone. I should sleep like a baby this night.
Dinner:
Macaroni casserole (it will take weeks before i make this again)
3 toasts with, ahem, dutch paprika :P and cheese.
As a side note. I got a bad habit. I can't have dinner without reading or watching something. This is when I eat alone and I usually eat alone. So I keep stretching the meal till 19:30. this is when simpsons start :P But its far too late time of day considering that lunch takes place at 12.00. Problematic indeed.

Had a bad night again. Got up at 3am for 2hours. Just browsed allkinds of strange inet pages I found. It's pretty wierd btw: how you are hungry if you get up in the middle of the night and then even if you wont eat a thing you are not hungry anymore after you get up for the second time in the morning. Had to force myself to eat breakfast.

Good job again Sarah :)
Late Lunch: Lettuce and a piece of brown bread and another slice with blueberry jam and some cocoa.
I have woman issues today. Urgh!
And Mellon is sick. Bleh. Kitty's all grumpy and urgled and to top it off I had to give her a bath. She's going to the vet on Wednesday.
Dr. Phil is on TV about losing weight. He's a complete dork, but sometimes the show is good to watch... like now... for some inspiration

Way to go Sarah. Doesn't this now help you to battle against temptations when those occur? Remember the good feeling. It will carry you far. I'm happy for you and I don't wish to be a spoilsport when I say this but this isn't a point to get too satisfied yet for satisfaction marks the end of development in everything.

I measured myself today.
My last measurements were done on Aug 21, 2006.
They were
Chest: 130cm, Waist: 120cm, Hips: 148cm
Then I measured my troublesome areas, thighs (87cm), calves(51cm) and upper arms(47cm).
Today's measurements are:
Chest: 129cm (-1cm)
Waist: 118cm (-2cm)
Hips: 145cm (-3cm)
Thighs: 82cm (-5cm)
Calves: 52.5cm (+1.5cm WTF?)
Upper Arms: 45cm ((-2cm)
So no matter what that damn scale says, I'm even happier than I was before with these measurements. I can't believe that in a little over a month, I've lost that much already in cms....
Watch out world! Sarah's on a roll and you better get out of her way!!!!
I love you all! Thank you for being there for me when I've found it hard to press on and when I want to eat a bucketful of ice cream and chocolate!

The first morning when the temperature was below zero when cycling to school. Nice and cool trip.
Breakfast:
the leftover sandwich from yesterday (egg/cheese/tomato)
wheat porridge (got myself to make porridge, my accomplishment)
muesli with banana yoghurt.
sort of heavy breakfast but i was starving, will be countered by lighter lunch.
Hey Heather, nice to see that you didn't get kidnapped by the evil germans, seeing that you ventured so close to border. + points to you also for the ice cream bout and all the biking :)

Nice critter pics, but I see your failed attempt at feeding the children to the goats! Better hide those pics before social services sees them!
Just got up, but so tired. The weekend was nice, but I won't bother to put all the foods eaten. Needless to say as with all big family gettogethers it was a lot, but end the end I avoided the massive bubild your own ice cream sunday bar and only went for the fruit there. Small accomplishments.
We also biked a full 55km yesterday, which accounts for my being zzz and sore. I'll go have some coffee now... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

Slept in strange rythm (again) went to bed at half ten and woke up at midnight. Been up for 2h now but ive succesfully avoided eating, been drinking water like a little camel tho :P but no eating. Hopefully ill feel sleepy enough to go back in bed soon.
How do the little penguins survive there in such warm climate btw? bet they are seriously pissed off due to lack of snow. Girls looked happy tho :) must have been a nice trip.

Tonight was alot more peaceful than the last one. Came home early despite of free weekend. Guess we were all still exhausted from yesterday and this way saturday turned into pretty healthy day. Prepapred macaroni casserole and went to gym. and i know that this night i wont sneak around at 6am to eat pea soup :P
ps : nice pics.

Gday.
Had a 'sauna'-evening with friends yesterday. The appartment building where my friend antti lives has the sauna on top of the building. In 15th floor or something as high. It was kinda cool to dash out to the roof wearing nothing but a tower around your vaist after sauna. I can tell you that it was pretty cold out there tho. Wind was howling like mad and had to try to keep it from grabbing my towel :P Anyway the little city of Oulu looked nice from such high place.
Furious sauna activies, however, almost always lead to drinking especially when you're in group which consists purely out of males. So had few beers of which I somehow feel guilty now *head scratching* and then there's something else to confess. Came home around 6am and was hungry as hell and surprsingly I ended up eating ...pea soup. A little plate of it. How the hell did that happen? How did I manage to make that, being tired, hungry and a bit tipsy and most of all _why_. My guidelines strictly forbid eating before going to bed. Anyway, today I have a little bit guilty conscience for all of this.
ps: Hell yes you should get new pens if your one and only pen is from sweden! Duh :P

Lunch: The first 3x slices of a vlaamse mik, my favo bread which is formed in a circle so the first three pieces are tiny and grow like matryoshka dolls! The smallest with french honey, pilfered from paris. The next with pesto and chicken, and the next with Lettuce and ham!
Walked a bit through Schiedam which is hopping with a big party, but it was raining so we fled back home. Gonna bike to the gardening store from some winter violets and goodies for friends. Hopefully after I will manage to drag Mark back out into the city. Woot :)

Huzzah, my Christmas cards just came in the mail. Perhaps this year I'll get the things out on time. (HA HA HA, he he he, ho ho ho) Ordered a set of pencils too because we apparently only had one from IKEA and one that had been so chewed to pieces by the cat that it was hardly a pencil anymore. They're special and say "This pencil was made from one recycled plastic cup" on the side of it. Yay for doing something with plastic cups! I really wish there was a depot near here to recycle plastic, but there is none. We do paper and glass for years already, but plastic always goes into the bin. Bleh :(

Ate lunch twice today as its a work day. When I work and don't eat enough I motice I feel miserable and very feint... as in when i bend and lift mail the world spins. Not good. So my belly is full now for the final 3 hours, and I'll go play postal girl as soon as my coffee is done.
Sarah, I've said it in MSN but I'll say it here too. You're doing great, don't let this puffy week get you down. I know all about the evils of water weight gain just prior to Eve's revenge. Do the tape-measure twist in a day orso and look at your REAL results. There will be a scale re-match in 7 days... prepare!

Weigh-in: 130.1
Last week: 129.2

I'm all puffy, and retaining enough water to be considered the Hoover Dam...
My rings are tight, to the point that I can't get my biggest ring off of my finger.
This is a ring that normally I have to be careful of not losing. Yeah its nearly that time of the month, I'm feeling listless and tired and my back is sore, and not from the training.

See you Saturday Sara... Hubby's flight is around 4:30 so I'll take the next train after that... how long does it normally take on the train to get to Tilburg from A-dam?
WHEE! I can't wait! It takes about 1 hour and 45mins about, then the walk or bus ride to my house. Depending how much stuff you are bringing. ;)
I'm giving fair warning... I have 2 children, and they are little hurricanes, in the making of becoming HUGE hurricanes! I'm trying desperately to teach them to pick up their stuff... but alas... mommy does it all. This house would be a disaster area, declared unlivable if not for me...
I have the attic almost ready for you to sleep in, have to wash the bed sheets. Don't need you getting any finnish cooties.
Yeah the last one to sleep in that bed was the finn. ;-)
Oh and another warning, hubby and I snore... Juha said he didn't hear us upstairs... but I think he was just too exhausted from my children climbing on him.

Better then I thought considering the White Chocolate Mocha! I found out today what the damage is to get my Oxygen Concentrator fixed. Less than I expected so I was pleasently surprised. They said once I give the Ok it will take a week till it's back in my grubby little hands. Light at the end of the tunnel finally! I have all this fun stuff and I can't play it's been killin me!

Hah. Becel is finnish! you get + coolness points for that :)
Actually Becel is produced by Unilever which is an Anglo-Dutch company. ("Unilever has two parent companies: Unilever NV in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Unilever PLC in London, United Kingdom.") But you get coolness points for not only importing our butter, but our paprikas too!
Snack: Another open faced lettuce + ham sandwich and coffee
Dinner: Will be a chilled pasta salad... chock full of damn near everything in the fridge. Made enough for two days too :)
Hah. Becel is finnish! you get + coolness points for that :) I found something new to put on bread. This is regretably products of dutch greenhouses, for they dont grow paprika in finland but it should still taste good, i think, not too sure about it, at least I didn't pay much, just less than euro for two :( Busy day, still have some school things to write but since tomorrow is friday it doesnt feel bad.
Hey Heather... Yeah I know how many calories are in a Grande.... I entered it in my Lifeform a long time ago when I lived in Portland, OR... Used to drink a tall WCM every morning. I updated the calories this morning by going to the Starbucks homepage. Sometimes they revise the calorie count... back then I didn't have to worry much. I was in the Pool most days practicing after work. Was on a Masters Synchronized Swim team. Plus I usually did a Firm DVD after work when I had the energy.... and I was much thinner then as well.
Hubby wanted to pour his leftover into mine and have me take it home and drink... I said No Way! Threw it in the trash.

Lunch: Two pieces of brown bread with lettuce and ham, and one piece with blueberry jam.
Nods, tomatos and cucumber instead of butter has to be quite good for ya. These days the only "butter" we have in house is some bizarre stuff called "Becel Pro-Activ" which is quasi butter tasting stuff that's supposed to actually be good for you. Including a claim that it lowers your cholesterol. Hell if I know if it works, but we rarely eat butter on bread anyway so we just figured we'd go for this expensive stuff and see how it goes.
Fear that mocha, it sounded delicious so I looked it up on starbucks. It still sounds delicious but you don't wanna know the calories in an entire "grande"! Good thing you didn't drink it all :D

Fruit flies l ay their eggs on anything that is fruit or veggies, heck they even try to swim in beer.
Brown rice, easiest way to do it...
put the rice in a pan
cover with water about 2 fingers higher than the rice
put on the burner and cook until the water is all gone
Let sit for about 5-10mins with a lid on...

Laf, Suppose I should explain this thing then. While I was fighting against those damn flies I read that they lay eggs on banana's cover and washing them after buying was always recommended. This may be just an "urban legend", but they suggested washing those for this reason. Whatever the truth is! the insides are still good :P Bananas, yum yum.
Snack: Had a nice iceberg lettuce sandwich instead of a banana for snack since Juha's talk of fruit flies and their eggs put me off the bananas entirely. (And no, we don't have flies in the house)
I love iceberg lettuce though, and it's got like zilch on the calorie meter. Good stuff. So super crunchy... mjam...

Oddly enough, we have a really nice lil fresh sushi place up the road in our lil city. At first we thought the owners were crazy for beginning such a place in a city this small, but they;re doing really well because it's really good food :)

Total Calories - 388
2 cups brocolli in lemon pepper butter sauce - 88
1/2 cup potato slices seasoned with basil and garlic - 67
1 chickenbreast filet - 143
750ml water
At work I had one small cup of mushroom cream soup - 90
I was craving salt, so I figured the cup of soup would be butter than coming home and eating popcorn.
Daily Total Calories - 953
Of course you are allowed some extra food on days when you are working. I've noticed a trend... on my workout days I tend to eat a bit more too, than on days when I don't do much aside from housework and shopping.

Mark and I have been pouring over trip plans all evening. Damn hotels are expensive. Booked an "Econo Lodge" in DC and even that is going to be 450$ in the end for the hotel alone. Damn skippy it better come with some free continental breakfast! Now to find an ok hotel on Manhatten... and to book the Amtrak train from DC to New York. Tomorrow we go back to the travel agent to pay for the flight, and believe me... our bank accounts are looking mighty poorly after that gets paid... OUCH! But hey, you only live once right? Can't not have seen these two cities :)
And hey.. 0-0.... At least you didn't lose!

uh, you should deff. remember to eat enough if the load is indeed of that size. With that weight the work is certainly comparable to a workout. Remember to nab something extra, like today, on work days and you should be fine :) Oh and I promise to come to kick your unconscious corpse there on the streets if the xtra sandwich does not appear on the menu!
Our soccer match ended into 0-0 tie. Sucks. Means there's no hope of xtra games after the series.
and missed two perfect scoring opportunities at the last minutes! graah, im also horrible out of shape when it comes to running ,p

Uuugh, I am exhausted. Felt faint at 4pm. Seriously dizzy faint, so I ate a 2nd whole sandwich along with my banana for energy since I knew I had more than 2hrs hard working still to go before the work day was through. I know those calories have been burned off and then some, but without the extra energy I doubt I would have made it.
I actually weighed myself with a typical walk loop's load carried in arms and on back. The scale said 88 kilos. Now, given that this morning the scale without all those luxurious trappings read 59 kilos (I checked for this), that's 29 kilos of extra weight on me. Thats HALF MY BODY WEIGHT in pulverized tree. No wonder I come home dizzy and starved when I try to do the work on a diet's menu... remind me to allow an extra sandwich in general on such days before i kill myself :P
Pity I can't get down to Tilburg to party too, Diana. We already had plans this weekend to go to the other side of NL... nearly Germany! Perhaps another time, but I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun :)

Hiya. Today's a soccer day again. ...Walking was wobbly for 2 days after the last game due to injured legs, but I'm not going to retire for winter yet. There are at least 2 more matches to play.
No retreat no surrender

breakfast:
2 toasts with tomato slices (no butter)
blueberry yoghurt
2 cups of coffee
We'll just have to wash the bleh out of you then.
That's no good. Monthly phenomenon or not :P

Just feel bleh today. "That time" starts soon so I'm just oozing bleh. The rain earlier didn't help, but it's cleared up nicely out there now, so it's not so bad anymore.
Lunch: Two whole dark bread sandwiches with a ton of uber fresh iceberg lettuce, and some "philly spread" and turkey. I'll have some coffee now and later in the afternoon a banana orso.

Dinner: Spinich noodles, some worst, and mushrooms in a spicy sauce. A portion about the size of my fist in total. After dinner I had some coffee and a part of a square of chocolate. The package was american and so said serving size and calories, handy that. I had roughly 1/20th of a serving and one serving was 220 calories. Go figure.
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins and some coffee
Lunch: A piece of dark bread with cheese and a piece with turkey and lettuce. Gonna have some coffee and that tiny bit of gingerbread finally now as my snack *YUM*
Been uploading pics ALL DAY... *whew* I never knew how many pics I had that needed some digital lovin and sorting! Lotsa pics of Sarah and Juha mixed in if Diana is curious to see us :)

A few pics from the zoo trip! One sleepy desert fox. Two hungry prarie dogs. Two fighting otters. And one pissed off cat! The pics were all taken with a nokia phone with no zoom, so that's really as close as we were :)
Diana, I've got some mighty big feet, so I can do some mighty hard arse kicking if need be.... but remember, you asked for it!
Snack: We preserved another pot of pears and apples, so my snack was a small helping of that. Yum :)
Perhaps I can help you D. I give myself just 1 free day in a month. That day is pretty close now already. It's coming, Next saturday. Waiting it because I know that it feel so much better after saying no to temptations for so long.
That is perhaps abit extreme. And I know some of my methods are as well. For example I can walk past doughnut stand and just look at those things for a while. Wanting to eat one them more than anything. But nope, I just walk by. Repeating the same thing the next time I see doughnuts or whatever sweet things which I don't need to eat. It gets easier to ignore those and so I slowly forget the whole idea about eating them. Example: I used to drink coke alot. Stopped aprx a month ago. I see the bottles in store, but I wont buy them. I just remember the feeling I got aftewards after drinking it. Sugarcoated teeth and feeling of disgust. Water tastes alot better.
Like I said this is _abit_ extreme. but perhaps this example helps you. And btw, if you goto see those crazy women. (they are just that) take a can of mace or a baton with you, you may need it. Just for your own protection.

It's hard to be good when the hubby is home. I won't see him again for two weeks... so Sarah want a visitor Saturday evening? Or Friday next weekend... Hubby is flying out of Amsterdam Saturday late afternoon for China... he flys in from Poland sometime not sure yet either late Friday night or Saturday morning.... anyway we are talking about me taking the train in to Amsterdam to meet him for a couple of hours....
No worries if it doesn't work for you... I'll keep in touch with the details..
He wants burritos for dinner this evening...so I think today might be my free day. I give myself a free day every once and awhile. So Sara I understand totally... I need them as well or I'll go off my diet as well. It's went we give ourselves to much free reign ... well you get the picture.
I made French Toast for Breakies. And a Chicken Sandwich for Lunch (real grilled chicken not lunch meat)
Heather...you might need to keep me in line next week :0} Do you have some big Boots for some arse whoppin?!

Puuh, workweekend has ended. Back to sleeping in proper rythm again. but I too have walked past temptations several times during this 3 week stint. For my part I dont think I have the nerves of a giant I've just decided to change my way of life and I've been really happy
afterwards, each time after walking past something incredibly tasty. A bit of Self-discipline, feels great to have such a thing. (and i think the little sweet baccala? things stole my tongue. I can't taste sweet bits anymore :)

Sarah, I know you're trying and doing great. I'm still here to remind you to stay on your toes, even when you may not need reminding!
Lunch: Coffee, one slice of pumpkin bread and cheese and one slice of brown bread and cheese. Tried to make cakes in my combi-oven, but they flopped miserably. Nevertheless, I had a small bit of 'failed cake' with my lunch as well. The rest is in the wastebin.

Good morning
Yeah I know I'm gonna have to work extra hard this week.
It has been a month though on this diet, I haven't gotten sick and I'm over my 5 kilos. And the thing is, I KNOW that if I don't have a day here and there where I am nice to myself and let myself have something that isn't technically diet food. Then I won't be able to keep up the rest of the time. I'll start craving bad things... and unlike you, I don't have the willpower of a giant... It is getting better and easier to be good and not bad, but I know how I am... I know that by treating myself nicely once in a while, I'll be stronger in the end. Cause then I won't want to splurge and pigout on bad things.
I also know what some of my worse foods are. I know I have to avoid bread, rice, pasta and potatoes. Thats why I try normally to stay away from more than 2 or three slices of bread in a day, and try to keep my rice, pasta and tater intake in the evenings down. Cause those are the things my body has a hard time using and tends to make them right into fat. I have more energy after I eat just veggies and meat and when I eat just fruit than if I have pasta, rice and taters with it. I get way more veggies for less calories and it makes me feel fuller. Plus then my body uses those calories better and faster, then making my body use all the stored fat.
I felt good in the theater last night, cause I remember only 6 weeks ago, when we went with the finn... and I remember feeling the sides of the chairs on my hips... last night... there was ROOM!
I am already planning on being good today. The party we are going to, I have to bike 30mins to get there, then they are oki with me drinking just water, so that will be fine. And they tend to have cucumbers and cheese as part of their snacks, so it will be good. I don't know what dinner is today, but I know I will eat a smaller amount.
Tomorrow is gym and I have to bike to my work's main office (30min bike ride) for a meeting about what is gonna happen with my 4 hours I just lost. You know a month ago, had I gotten the letter I got in the mail on wednesday last week, I would have gone out and bought myself chocolate, cookies, chips, bad things and eaten it all in one sitting... But I didn't even do that, it didn't even cross my mind to do that. So I am very proud of myself. And I don't consider my night last night all too bad cause I only ate chicken, some kind of kebab, a small piece of pork and little bit of the shoarma meat.

Mark brought me back a small square of gingerbread from the states! It lives in the kitchen atm and I just smell it. Gingerbread smells so good! It's only about 4x4x1 cm, but it's a slice of heaven. I'll prolly have it after dinner today... or the next day... or maybe the next... *smells it again*
Sarah, good that you skipped the popcorn. Two "naughty days" in a row though and you'll have a lot of making up to do! Try and be good at the party, tis all I can say. There was many a time where I completely skipped the offering of cake and vlaai when I was in the first 10 kilos of losing. It's less to worry about taking off in the end if you do! And besides, two days ago you already had choco icecream! (Remember, Heather isn't nice about this :)

Second time and the drooling still wont stop eh? ;) I'm a fan of davie jones' actor and I'll prolly have to get that movie as dvd later on. And GPS tracking in a zoo ? ;) You guys have had a nice weekend then.
Good that you passed the pop corns Sarah. Those movie pop corns, not the air popped ones are bad. (yes ive learned the difference). I had a quiet saturday myself. Bought a new frying pan and made pork in sweet&sour sauce. It was nice. Cooking and sauna were my highlights.
Managed to sleep 4h last night already. There's hope of moving back in the normal sleeping rythm.

Hihi
*wipes drool from her chin*
Johnny and Orlando were soooo yummy!
But dinner was Greek...
Tatziki with bread
Mixed grill with little 1/4cup of rice, tatziki and about 6 different meats and I only ate half of it.
1 glass of wine
During the movie
2 bottles of light icy lemon fanta
And I made it through the movie WITHOUT popcorn...
We were sooo full after the Greek that neither of us could even think of popcorn.
I'm not even gonna try and add up the calories for this dinner, but I'm guessing with all the meat, it was pretty high...
Tomorrow with the birthday party, I'm gonna have to have a few makeup days this week.

Dinner: A mishmosh of foods from a buffet, but I really did try to keep everything in a small total amount. The only thing I did go for an extra was the bread, as it was fresh, full of seeds, and delicious. You guys know my weakness for real bread tho :) I ate well behaived tho, so woot.
The visit to the zoo was fun. We got split into 8 groups and had to run around the zoo with a real GPS and find markers which had questions. We actualy came in 2nd of all the groups *hehe* It was fun though, and the animals were showing themselves rather well. It was a lovely day for it all too. :)
Oh and yea, I'm definatly a pear shape. I know of the batwings too... hoho my arms are floppy skinned :) I'll have to look into exercizes to firm and what I can really do I suppose... I say that with a heavy heart... I hate any sort of exercize :P

I don't know what dinner will be, but I'm gonna keep it decent I think. May have a glass of wine or so... and popcorn at the movie! Must have popcorn at the movie... can't go to a movie and not have popcorn...
Tomorrow we have a birthday party as well.

Good afternoon.
You all sound peppy which is nice to notice but the topic. *hehs and confused head scratching*
well just have to help you to get rid of those, lol, saddlebags&bellies then!
Btw I've always liked the term 'lovehandle' perhaps we can add that in the term book? :) cause despite of liking the word atleast in my book those are the enemy. Clear indication of little extra weight. But isn't that how it goes; as a woman your fat goes to the region of butt and legs, and as a man it forms a nice little beerbelly ;) This is how I often hear it said. Dont know if theres any
truth behind it.
Nice to hear that you're getting the long-awaited dutchie back, and yeah indeed do something special togeher :) Now life can return back to normal there.
As for me, duh, work weekend has messed up everything. Got up at 2pm yesterday, stayed up till 8am this morning. Because i just wasn't feeling sleepy enough and decided to goto work straight away without napping in between. Such a great decision. Then ofcourse I slept again and got up at 2pm today. The thing is, this really messes up the good eating schedule I have. Where's the breakfast, lunch and dinner in schedule like this? + its awfully depressing to be up after midnight alone. Hopefully I'll snap out of this schedule asap.

Total Lunch Calories: 221
Nothing big chicken, rice, some corn and a couple roma tomatoes....
Heather I guess your a pear shape rather than an apple.. I am a pear as well carry all my weight in my tummy and thighs. Sucks... but I have noticed that the older I get that my arms are really batwingy and I think I hate that more!
Have you ever heard of The Firm? I have a bunch of their DVD's and they have a great 14" step that you can do for your butt and thighs... I have found it helps alot... and for your stomach... pilaties might help... but you might need to talk to an instructor about you back to see if they can give you some moves that will work the tummy without hurting your back.

Oh and the saddlebags... my guess on that is the only way to get them perky is to get a lift, or a fillup. :P
Eee! Saddlebags are on your butt+thighs! Not boobies! My boobs are saggy enough too tho ;P
And its all relative yeah. I've worked on this so long, I really want to get myself to that "finished dream state" (haha). Crunches etc are very hard (read painful) to do since I have had full spinal fusion done, and true situps are nigh impossible, but leglifts and the like are something I can do and should start adding to my daily routine. Oddly enough I really really would like to lose weight from my calves and lower leg. I have an incredible fat buildup there in relation to the rest of me. The muscle is easily felt beneath the fat, but it's a strange place my body decided to store lotsa chunkiness in. How to lose that? ;P
Lunch: 3x slices of pumpkin bread and cheese with coffee. I love the pumpkin bread, for it has so many whole seeds baked throughout it. It just oozes health food.
I'm sure tonight will be a big-food night as we're being fed by mark's company, but it should be tasty and gratis to boot, so yay for being spoiled once in a while :)
Oh yes.. I hadn't seen the bunbun in a while and I had feared a cat had gotten the poor thing, but lo and behold he was out back again this morning, so yay for mr bun bun! *grin*
Saddlebags and poochy belly?
Where?
You wanna see saddlebags and poochy bellies?
I'll show you mine and you will stop your whimpering!
But if you really want to get rid of the tummy you think you have, then you will have to start doing crunches and leg lifts to work those tummy muscles into shape.
I read somewhere that building muscle will help burn more calories too, so in the end it might help you lose those extra kilos you want to lose easier.

Is Heather cleaning the house getting ready for Mark's return?
Naw, oddly enough the house has been kept in company-ready condition for a good while now. What I really should do again is clean out my closet, trying everything on and purging it of the stuff I simply never ever wear... so I have room for more new clothes!
Mark sms'd me that he's landed and is on his way home now. WHEE! Damn I have missed him so :( We'll be going to Blijdorp later today for a get together of Mark's work. Should be fun because I love going to the zoo :)
About the models and BMI... my goal weight is the lowest BMI for my height. Atm I prod my saddlebags and poochy belly and wonder just how much will be gone when I do make that weight, as what I really want is to lose the damned double roll that my stomach makes. I think the only way in the end will be to exercize and really build muscle to replace the fat. Since muscle weighs so much more than fat, the BMI numbers are skewed anyway. I'm a complete cremepuff aerobic exersize wise. So my weight reflects fat and not tone... I don't wanna do situps, but in the end I think its my only solution!
Breakfast: A slice of pumpkin bread with honey and some coffee. I'll have a banana too after my shower.

I myself see those women as dangers to their own health.
And to tell you the truth, I don't know any man who would want to spend anytime between her skin and bone thighs...
Most guys I've known in my life like their women with curves where they should be.
I like the idea of not letting them on the catwalk anymore if they are under the BMI...
their clothes fall off half the time anyways and who in the world looks like them anyways aside for them? No one could ever wear the clothes they model for anything other than a catwalk show...
oh well...
I think they shoulda made that a rule years ago...

I remember reading about that decision somewhere hrm. I dont know how you see those models but atleast I don't find women that are merely skin and bone attractive. and besides: Total lack of bosom translates to mega amount of minus points! ..and yeah, then theres also the fact what's healthy and what's not :) Its deff. going in the right direction if it starts to spread from there.
I was watching CNN a moment ago and they did a report on how there has now been a BAN on models in Madrid who are BELOW the healthy BMI for their height at one of the shows! Seriously! The talk is now whether or not this will catch on (in Milan for instance) and become reality within the model world in general. Check out the report from their website. Could this be a slice of history in the making? In any case, major kudos to the catwalk which did this, may there be many more.
Nod, the pan is history then because tried to soak it in soap water and wash it again but no results. Just have to get myself a new pan. That kind of things are indeed suprsingly costly!
Uberchoco! Laf. I'll treat myself next saturday, week from here, thats when I've been on diet for a month. Made myself that kind of promise in the start. Once every month, there's a relaxation day.
Perhaps a bottle of coke, kebab something like that then back to eat healthy :)

Dinner A bowl of leftover lamb stew and one piece of pumpkin bread. I'll have some coco later made with the pure droste cacao stuff... uberchoco... it's kinda bitter, as it's pretty much just pure cacao, but it's definatly that choco fix.
Exercize today was about 6 hours of trudging around carrying up to 20 kilos of mail at a time. Hey, doesn't that sound like fun? My hip's loosened up tho, so hurray :)
About the teflon, keep in mind... once it gets old and charred like that, it does start coming off. Which means you're eating teflon. Personally I hate my teflon fryer and one day I'll finally find my dream solid iron pan with enamel on the outside and a wooden handle... the last *dream* one I stumbled upon in a kitchen shop wound up being a shocking 129 euros... EEP... nothanks! I'll keep looking!

Have no good ideas for how to clean a teflon pan.... I have a bunch of really old cheap ones I bought a long time ago... they need replaced.
Had 6 fl oz glass of white wine this evening...need to unwind. Hubby won't be back till late and then he has to go meet up with some friends for a Bachelors night out...

Awesome everyone! Mega gratz :)
Lunch 3x slices of that yummie pumpkin AH farmer's bread. One with a lil pate and two with a lil goat cheese. I'll have a banana later as snack while I work and I'll have some coffee now before I fall over into a caffeneless puddle.
And re smaller sizes.. now that IS awesome! And always a great feeling when you get the surprise of "Oh, my ass got smaller! WHEE!" :D
Oh I forgot..
I went to Ulla Popken, cause I needed new gym pants. One pair isn't enough at 3 days a week workout.
But they had new clothes in the store too, so I went and tried on some and got two new pairs of pants, down from size 58 to size 56, and I'm sure soon I'll have to take them in... the 54s were just TOO tight still. But soon...

Looks like everyone deserves a round of applause!

Diana - see even with tough times you stayed strong and kept on going! WOO WOO!
Heather - yeah for happy scales! Hope your hip feels better soon!
I need to get some water!

Gym
elliptical, rowing, biking, treadmill and weight 1.5 hours
After the gym, I was starving. So I went to the town, and had a choice, McDonald's or Subway. I chose Subway cause their sandwiches are tastier and filled more with good things than greasy things. Bought a big sub, and had them split it for me, ate half then and the other half I brought home to eat later.

Dinner Hot Lamb Stew! I was in the mood to cook seriously today, so I got some lamb, added potatos, mushrooms, lotsa garlic, and a carrot and then one DEADLY cayanne pepper grown in the garden. That mofo was hot, and I'm no wuss when it comes to spicy foods! Well, I Let it all stew together and ate a nice sized bowlful of that with two pieces of AH bread. Mjam. Plenty leftover for tomorrow (gosh and probably the next day too) :)
I've somehow managed to throw my hip out today, or perhaps it's severe "weatherchange" feelings because it's on the scarred side. In any case it bloody hurts, and I hope it sorts itself out before tomorrow when I have to walk a lotta mail. Just sorting it all atm is no fun because It involves lots of bending and pacing about the livingroom. (whine whine whine) I feel old, but my belly is full of warm stew.
I'll have a small piece of choco (75%!) later with the coffee.
And a popcorn popper... popcorn's one food I almost never eat. Sarah got us some at the movies a month back, and it was really nice to munch then, but I think that was my first popcorn in over two years. I get mildly freaked picking the shells out of my gums afterwards. o_O; For diets it sounds like a really good idea though... perhaps I should give it another try sometime :)
Oh and whew that I'm not the only one to notice the weight trend in our neck of Europa. Juha, you must have just been stunned to see women not wearing layers of arctic furs, so they all looked good to you! *ducks*
PS to Diana: Now that you've had to clean the house for the landlord from hell... take pics! I love to see how folks have decorated their homes, even if you're going to move :)

Lunch:
Rye Bread (or as close as it gets over here)
mayo
lean ham
lite swiss cheese
Total Calories for Lunch: 458
I have noticed that society in general is getting larger. Europe is starting to get into the American work habit with no time for healthy cooking and more and more junk available. Still not as bad over here as in the US. But they will probably be giving us a run (the US) for our money say 10/20 years down the line.
I need to go grocery shopping. Don't have much healthy food in the house. I did buy an Air Popcorn popper. Since I love to pop it myself... and its way healthier than poppin in oil! I lucked out that I saw it... It's a god send for that time of the month when I crave salty.

Most of them do everything they can to avoid looking back but sometiems they look back and smile :)
Living so crammed in, a lot of dutchies seem to go to great lengths to ignore eachother and thus provide more "personal space". They probably thought you were psychotic, staring everyone in the eyes. *cough*
Yea, frikandel and fries... drowned in mayo = a super healthy snack! But what's really scary is when it becomes dinner... every day... :P
Last night's show displayed what one guy ate in snackbar food like that in one week, but then showed that worse than the food itself, he was actually consuming more than one full liter of frying-oil each and every week through eating the deep fried food. Can you say artery clogging goodness? Egads!

Gday. Today's a busy day. First school and then a soccer match. Also planning to goto gym on top of the game. In fact I'm on c++ lesson while i write this. Slept late again and breakfast turned into lunch. This has happened alot latelly. Been having only 2 meals/day. which isnt that healthy ofcourse.
I don't know about dutchies and their size naturally (but the tall and skinny-image is exactly how I see them after 2 visits in that godforsaken country!) and even in finland i usually look at people in the eyes. Those tell alot more than their body does. Most of them do everything they can to avoid looking back but sometiems they look back and smile :) thats a nice little game i play. But jep you notice things that are important to you :)
Diet well, tomorrow's the weight in day, kinda anxious to see the results again.

Well you aren't the only one noticing it.
I started noticing the size of people going up about 5 years ago, but it wasn't as obvious as now. I think its because the kids don't go out and play anymore. Its computers and games and inside. The parent's give and let the kids do anything they want. Because the laws have gotten so strict with the handling of children. I'm sorry, my parents spanked my bottom and I grew up just fine, respecting my elders, and doing what I was told when I was told to do it. I think thats why now I don't listen to anyone, when they tell me I HAVE to do something. I didn't have much freedom as a child.
But yeah, I must honestly say I feel much more at ease when out and about in the city and all now than 10 years ago, when everyone looked at me and you could just see them shaking their heads and whispering about the fat american, buying chocolate.
Now I kinda sit back and laugh to myself at how easily they have fallen into the same patterns as the americans have, eating out, not eating healthy, heck with a diet of potatoes, meat and very little veggies its NO wonder they are gaining weight. You can't live on a diet like that all your life.

Lunch Three slices of AH "Excellent" farmer's pumpkin bread. One clice with pate, and two with Bettine Blanc, which is related to the dutch cheese that recently won 'world's best goatcheese'. Damn that stuff is good. I'll have a banana sometime later along with some coffee.
About saturday, thanks but nothanks! Mark comes back saturday morning and I've missed him so! I wanna be home! :)
Oh and NO FALLING!
Now, a small dissertation... When I first came to Holland, I thought these were the tallest and skinniest people I'd ever seen. Everyone was slim. It blew my mind at the time. Now, years later, I see more and more heavy folk when I go into town and do my shoppings. Not just older people, but kids as well. Enough to really notice. Enough to think at least half the folk I see could stand to lose quite a chunk.
Is the weight issue really coming into play here more than a mere few years ago? Is holland rapidly becoming a nation of supersized junkfood junkies for real?
Is it really a growing problem, or just my imagination as I fixate on my own dietary needs?
Is my memory of my first days here that warped because of the initial comparison from coming from the heavy company of having grown up in the deep fried and sugary cake loving southern usa?
It really makes me wonder...

Heather is welcome to come down and go to the sauna with me.
She knows that, and as soon as Diana is settled in her new house, we will go there and invade her place too. ;)
If Heather were to come down tomorrow evening after she did her work, she could go saturday with me. ;)
Everyone seems to be back with a vengence! YEAH! Now its my turn to fall... no not really I'm loving the gym and the sauna and can't wait til tomorrow morning. I'm just tired today. I have my last LATE night tonight cause I got fired from one project. WHEE! I've been wanting out of that job for years now...
Today I have to do a bit of cleaning too cause hubby is having a friend over to watch voetbal. Luckily he's picking up his own beer and snacks!
I found for 99cents a little arm wallet thing, so I can put my lock key and gym pass in there and keep it with me. I need to get myself some new sporting pants, so I think after my workout tomorrow I'm gonna make a stop at the Ulla Popken where I got the ones I have now and see if they have a few more.

Going to walk today. Weather was nice until today it's getting cold again. I need to clean a little today cuz the owner is coming today or tomorrow sometime to show the house. He was supposed to call and let me know when but I am sure in his usual jerk way he'll call 15 min before he shows up or he'll call and show up 2 hours after he said he would... did I tell you he was a jerk? I would use stronger language...so insert whatever comes to mind for Jerk!
Can you tell I don't like our landlord?

Breakfast Two wasas, one with cheese and one with blueberry jam and some coffee. I'll prolly grab a few tomatos or strawberries from the garden later on the way to the grocery store depending on what's ripe. That's as fresh as it gets :)
Watched two 'crap' television shows last night about dieting and diet in general. One called 'De Afvallers' was with families who in total only 4 folks weighed up to 500 kilos... including some with kids of under 10 years old... scary show, to see just how much crap was stashed away on their house, but it was oddly motivating too, to see what all was deemed absolute shite and tossed. Time to go through my fridge with a scrutinizing eye. ;P
Edit: And yea, It's a rare day when I see a sauna. I blame the Finn for the sickness, as getting to use his sauna was my first time ever in one. If the house was huge, I'd wish to build one in it, but alas... we's po folk and the house is wee! The garden's a decent size, but plunking a sauna out there isn't an option!
Diana, take some pics of your new place so we can see! Heck, take picks of your old place.. we've never seen that either!

This is a plea to Sarah.
Your dear friend Heather has been struggling with the "no sauna"-disease for a good while.
As you can see the symptoms are getting severe. Please go visit this poor soul and see to it that
she packs the required items, (tree shampoo among other things) with her and escort her to your gym and into sauna. Please, act as soon as possible. We do not wish to lose any members of pinkie team due to untreated cravings.

Got lots of stuff done today. Went to Ikea and spent way to much... Got some cool glasses tho :)
Took the Dry Cleaning in... We are getting ready to move so I don't know why I am buying stuff I am just going to have to pack anyway. We are staying in the same town just moving houses. Our landlord is the worst and our contract is up. We found a great house with a Sauna in the basement! Right now we go to the Tanus Therma...and I hate it when it's crowded!

What? You mean it's not snowing yet? I'm pretty sure this is your local forecast for the week... Hmm...
Some weather you have there, huh. Perhaps by telling you that we have +12'C and rain here puts it in the right perspective. Hopefully you have indeed been enjoying of it. Pictures seem to work nicely here as well. I haven't had a house number where I live since we moved 10 years ago. Parents also had a horseshoe above the door for good luck. Nice that you found what you were looking for.
Love the numbers Heather!
And the Smeg fridge is just too funny! It is a pity that it is orange.
I got my first warning letter from my work. If I get 3 of them I get fired. I've worked for them for more than 5 years now and this is my FIRST letter. Must be some kind of record or something. But anyways, seems one company I am working at wants to leave CSS (my cleaning company) so I have a meeting on monday at 1pm, to talk about other possibilities to fill in my 4 hours. I hope they have something here close to home.

So! Just because I'm so happy to have finally found the sacred "B" in a form I liked (and because I wanted to test images here!) Voila! The pic!
And I found a SMEG fridge irl! Pity it's orange because I want a red or cream one, but one day when we redo the kitchen, I totally wanna SMEG fridge! They're so cute :)
Welcome back Diana! The article is interesting, and very similar to an "Oprah moment" if you ever watch her show. (At times it's good, at times it's crap. Sarah berates me sometimes for watching it at all!) I agree fully with being kind to yourself, and also that you have to learn to accept yourself and the realise the reasons behind overeating are often a hell of a lot deeper than "Damn I want that donut" if you don't stop at one, but go for the dozen. Just one donut is being kind. An entire box really isn't :)
I was kind to myself today, but not in a food way. Walked for about 3 hours shopping in Delft and found my mom's christmas gift (woot!) as well as finally finding number tiles for the house that included the B! And a frame for them to boot! It was kinda expensive, but you don't buy house numbers every day so it was a real treat to lil old me. I love house things :)
Breakfast Oatmeal with raisins + coffee
Lunch Two pieces of brown bread with pate and one wasa + cheese and one wasa + blueberry jam with more coffee
Now to go nail the numbers to the front of the house :)
PS: it's nice to see you write your eating down too, juha... and your ma is sweet for sending you fruit, even if it was in a can :)

Right now I'm waiting on an email from a Medical supply place that sells oxy cons... They are looking for a deal for me. Keep your fingers crossed! Hopefully next week I'll be able to make beads again.

I go to the gym 3 days a week, at least I'm gonna try to go 3 days a week.
I figured out the monitor, and learned today that biking in the sitting bike doesn't get my heartrate high enough, even on level 3 or biking faster. But I have reached my points for the week so all I do will now be extras.
Didn't go in the sauna today, no time for it. Friday if mother nature hasn't come to visit by then, I will. I'm craving chocolate and feeling blah...
Diana - don't you worry your pretty little head one bit. I figured you needed sometime and when you were feeling up to it you would talk. I'm one of those good listeners. ;)
Congrats making it through a long evening Juha!
Yeah for Heather feeling better!
I did almost 1.5 hours of workout today.
elliptical, rowing, biking, elliptical, and weights
Now for the rest of the afternoon, Kristel is having a friend come play so its gonna be busy here. But its nice weather so I think I'll toss them out in the playground.

Gday. To tell you the truth I too was getting worried. If there would not have been new msgs now i would said few selected words! No honestly, I feel a little sting in my conscience as well for I havent really reported what I eat either.
Its good to have you with us again Diana and nice to hear of your improved state, and about eating properly Heather. (wasa knackers, tho the first letter is wrong and made by swedes those atleast try to be finnish food, i think :O)
Had terrible terrible urge to eat again last night, read till 3am. Having a good book keeps me up late. Last meal was at 7pm, rice and chickenballs. and some bread. Barely survived after that by drinking just water. But I made it and now I'm happy about lasting through the night without a snack.
Breakfast at 8am:
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
2 slices of bread.
water
few canned fruits, (parents bought me this last friday, they swim in sugary water
so these are a bad thing, but I'll eat the can slowly, just few spoonfulls of fruits each
morning.)
and *uck!, was out of coffee filter pouches, no coffee. I still havent had coffee
when writing this and it shows.
