HAPPY QUEEN'S DAY!

Today's bento is done in honour of Queen's Day. Orange tulips! Cottage cheese, tamagoyaki, grapes, mandarine bits, spinach bed for the orange rice tulips, sweet red peppers, ham slices, and cherry tomatoes.

I'm posting this now, cause I'm not gonna be anywhere near a computer tomorrow to post it. :-)

As japanese as it gets. Natto, Umeboshi, Edamame, Mochi and Abura-age with an egg inside. Oh and a kiwi for good measure.

today's bento:
1 worstenbroodje, 1 slice roggebrood, 1 egg, hummus, cheese blocks with mustard, grapes, mandarine and nuts and cranberry mix. Yummy in the tummy.
Tamagoyaki, lotus root and edamame in the pod. In the little orange is Tamarind fruit, an extra sour, yet really tasy bit of weirdness from the tokos.

I'm still not dead after the Natto tasting. Will have to try it again on Queen's day ;)

The natto adventure... huoh!
You've been making super cute bentos with your new stuff. And bloat cards are guaranteed. :D

My lunch today consists of 2 croissants with knakworstjes in them, 1 1/2 knakworstjes made to look like little octupi and a little fish, one of the fishies jumped out of the pan and broke his head off, so he didn't make it to the bento. Mustard in the HK container and cheese blocks. Cherry tomatoes, mandarine slices from the can (needed using up) and a kiwi.

This morning's weigh in was officially 2 kilos off, since start. Last week was my bloat card and accounted for the scale up and down. But now we are back on the good side, going DOWN again! Whee..

Oh and ONE extra cheeseburger with the way you eat, wouldn't harm your diet at all hon... :-)
Bento... lots of little misc bits... and a faux orange, bamboo and cucumber! Teeheehee...

Weigh in was 61.5, but I call the monthly bloat card as it should have started yesterday. I don't think one extra cheeseburger murdered my diet that much, and I've been good otherwise :P

I'm sooooo tired... I worked in total today more than 8 hours.
1 hour at the fysio and 7.5 at the kitchen studio.

I made kees his bento before going to work this morning:

sandwich with bacon, salami pieces, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, cheese, mandarine, carrot pieces and slices of paprika. With mustard in the little HK container.

My bento consisted of 2 tortillas with cream cheese, spinach and chicken and ham, a mandarine, carrot pieces, cucumber and sweet red pepper, cherry tomatoes and cream cheese to dip the carrots in, and finally some small pieces of goats cheese.

Today's bento made in the old box (totoro's back in storage!) consisting of some leftover Lamb Roti, peppers, walnuts, raisins and feta wrapped in turkey and salami.

Also a pic of my collection of bento swag :)

Super Duper cute bentos.
Lucky you on the new bento arriving just in time.
I spent the day getting tiles for the garden.
And then working in the garden, cause tomorrow I'm gonna be working all day.
So I didn't even have time to make a bento today.
I ate something small in the morning and then didn't eat until 3pm.
Then I had 2 slices of bread with goat cheese and water.
I've only drank water today, and had the veggie soup for dinner with 3 slices of bread.
I'm tired but feeling good, cause the garden is finally gonna get finished!

Last night was the birthday party for my dance partner.
He did stone grilling and bowling along with line dancing.
And I was pretty good, I think I had about 6 little thin slices of chicken with tons of veggies.
The fries SUCKED and so did the sauces, so I just used herb butter to season the veggies and meat.

What a perfect day for all my new bento swag to come in the mail. We had planned a biketrip to the beach, and so I opened my 2nd bento (bad me, I know it's early!) and packed two matching ones for us to have when we finally hit the North Sea. 70km total trip and I am dead tired now, but it was a beautiful day and I'm glad we did it. Mark asked if I wanna go again tomorrow... GAH! He liked his bento tho. Said he'd never make one himself, too much work, but he liked eatin' it :)

Well we must both be feeling the same way... though I haven't binged on anything yet... tonight is a birthday party. So I decided to make today's bento nice and healthy.
1 mandarine, 1 small banana, nuts and dried cranberries, and 3 slices of bread with goat cheese and avocado. yummy yummy yummy...

Due to cramps I didn't do any other exercises than working yesterday either. Cleaning a kitchen studio really works you out... 2.5 hours... sunday is gonna be a killer day, an hour at the fysio, and who knows how long at the kitchen studio... prolly close to 4-5 hours.

Binge. Gah. I had one. Again.

I have problems with binge eating. I always have. I blame hormones of PMS raging as the trigger on this one, and I blame my lack of willpower for not stopping it.

Dinner, my binge... TWO cheeseburgers some potato salad and an assload of pistachios.

Who the hell eats TWO cheeseburgers?

I ate at 5:30 and felt so stuffed like I was gonna puke all the way till midnight when I slept.

Really, two cheeseburgers is a really bad idea. But I binged. I paid for it in tummyache. This is the confessional. I must have really been jonesing for some carbohydrates in mass. Yea, go me.

I also missed my workout. Ate so early and felt too much like a chubosaurus to move after. But the deal was 6 days a week. I'll make up for it. No worries.

But it's said and done and now we go on to the next day of the diet. The bento for today is a good wholesome and filling one. Oatmeal and flax (omega-3 rich goodness) with raisins, bananas, an orange, figs and walnuts. No meats, cheese, salt or refined sugar.

An underwater scene this time... but the sausages I bought failed to spread like the japanese versions do. Oh well, they taste great. Two minirolls, a banana, and some sauteed pak choi. Very tasty stuff.

Hubby's bento consists of sushi onigiri, paprika and avocado sushi rolls, salami rolled up with spinach and cream cheese, ham slice rolled up with spinach and cheese, celery pieces, madarine, grapes, walnuts, red bell pepper and cream cheese in the HK container and soy sauce in the fishies.

Mine was the left over rice from yesterday, grapes, mandarine, and 2 croissants with goat cheese. The croissants, because while putting the groceries away... one of the cans popped open so I had to bake them.

Bento outside! Leftover couscous+sausage+chickpea+kidneybean+feta+moreveg stuff... and a bentosized banana, walnuts, grapes, and a mandarin

Today's bento consists of sushi made with red bell pepper and avocado, 3 radishes, 2 pieces of celery with peanut butter and raisins on it, grapes, sushi rice with red bell pepper tulips and celery and chives grass and finally a sushi onigiri with teriyaki pork strips inside. Oh and soy sauce in the little red hello kitty sauce bottle.

It's unnaturally cruel to put Hello Kitty cups in the husband's bento, you know XD

First we have hubby's bento. Soy sauce in the little fishies and salad dressing in the little cup.
There are ham and salami rolled around yellow paprika slices and cream cheese, tulip rice balls on a bed of lettuce, a teriyaki meatball onigiri, mushrooms, radishes, grapes and a mandarine.

Rice tulips on a bed of lettuce with radish flowers, teriyaki meatball onigiri, mushrooms, grapes, salad dressing and soy sauce.
I couldn't help it... I had a DREAM about bento, and this was in it. It had to be done. The Mspacman is made of cheese, but obviously too thin a slice, because you can see the nori through her! This is something good to remember though for other ghostly tricks, come halloween time!

Tamagoyaki and cottage cheese on lettuce make up the rest of it. Yum!

More bento bits...

Warning - Serious Cuteness overload!

Just a simple box today. Grapes, mandarine, dried cranberries, walnuts and one multigrain roll with ham, goat cheese, Blue Band Goede Start Halvarine, and lettuce mix. I'll have a bottle of water along with this.

Saturday workout -25mins mixed exercises (jogging in place, leg lifts, crunches, jumping jacks...)
Sunday workout - dancing from 1:30 until 6pm (with a few breaks in between)
Monday workout - 25 mins mixed exercises
Sweet potato casserole leftovers made with real molasses and rum. YUM! Some hummus and pate, roggebrood and an orange.

Weigh in said 61kg again, and I'm happy with that. Maybe next week I'll go down another .5 :)

A tortilla with chedder, salami and lettuce. Fresh cream in the hello kitty container and tabasco in the we lil bunny. Chickpeas and kidney beans with a slice of roggebrood.

Saturday, April 19, 2008

1 tortilla with chicken filet lunch meat, lettuce, spinach and cream cheese, 1/2 tortilla with ham, cream cheese, lettuce and spinach, grapes, walnuts cottage cheese and 2 onigiri tulips with soy sauce. I had forgotten my radishes the past couple of days, so the ones I had cut needed to get eaten. They are extras and didn't really fit in the box, but they aren't hardly any calories anyways.
Homemade pumpkin soup, consisting of pretty much just pumpkin and a few other veggies blended and cooked with milk. A dollup of cream on top. Some cottage cheese again and the last of the spinach. Abby bread and three slices of salami.

I've noticed something special today... that while the scale isn't moving, my fat is seriously rearranging itself with new muscle. My clothes fit different. The upper love handles are def smaller and don't muffintop over the jeans so much! YAY... must rearrange more!

shopping list for when I get to Rotterdam and the wonderful tokos there:

Edamame
Wakame
Seasoned Sesame Seeds
Nice chopsticks for the bento
Chopstick rests for the family

I'll edit this if I can think of anything else I need....
How to use the tulip rice mold:

This is just a simple one sided mold, no bottom to it, I bet it will work for cutting cookies too.

Pack it with warm sushi rice (I learned the hard way, not to try and mold cold sushi rice - it works, but takes a LOT more effort to get it to go where you want it to)

Flip it over onto the surface you want to put it on...

Push the loose middle piece out, lifting the outside ring off...

Gently peel the middle piece off the top of the rice... and wahla!

You can have your own garden full of rice tulips too!
